The CSCA is in advanced conversations with a number of Clayoquot Sound First Nations towards protecting the area's remaining intact rainforest valleys and islands (68,000ha) from logging, and to raise financing for these First Nations communities to be used for conservation initiatives and to assist in building a conservation economy.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. Today, we are encouraging our supporters to have meaningful discussions about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind. As the folks at Orange Shirt Society explain, today is “an opportunity to tune into and create bridges with each other for reconciliation and a day for survivors to be reaffirmed that they matter. Every Child Matters, even if they are an adult.”
