We’re grateful to have had members of the Huron Shores Hospice team attend and present at the Dignity Matters event on Wednesday May 20th, hosted at Best Western Inn on the Bay, hosted by the Grey-Bruce Geriatric Education Cooperative 💚

A special thank you to Clinical Lead Tara Mainland-Tudor, Executive Director Cathy Herbert, and Dr. Ward for attending, and our Support & Education Coordinator Eugene Dufour for sharing his presentation, Walking with Suffering — a meaningful conversation rooted in compassion, dignity, and the importance of walking alongside those facing illness, grief, and end-of-life journeys highlighted through a trauma-informed lens.

These conversations matter deeply, and we are proud to see our team helping foster understanding, empathy, and compassionate care within our communities.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this event possible.

Lori, thank you for the compassion, comfort, and care you bring to Huron Shores Hospice each and every day.

As shared in your words through our “More Than Just Medical Care” story, hospice nursing reaches far beyond clinical care alone. It is about presence, listening, understanding, and helping people feel seen and supported during some of life’s most vulnerable moments.

Your work reflects the heart of hospice in so many ways, offering comfort not only through what you do, but through how you do it.

Thank you for the difference you make, for the compassion you share so freely, and for helping make Huron Shores Hospice a place where no one walks alone 💚

Huron Shores Hospice invites you to our upcoming Death Café in Tiverton, a welcoming space where we come together over coffee, tea, and conversation to talk about something we don’t always make room for… death and dying.

There is no agenda, no pressure, and no judgment. Just a chance to listen, share, reflect, or simply be present in a space where all thoughts and experiences are welcome.

These conversations can feel tender, but they are also powerful. They help us connect, understand one another, and make space for what matters most.

Whether you are curious, carrying questions, or just want to sit in community, you are warmly invited.
