πŸŽ‰We were at the Tisdale and Area Family Resource Centre children's celebration on Saturday. Petting zoo, obstacle course, hoop dancing lessons. Real activities, real engagement, kids pushing themselves and trying new things.
These events build community. Families connect with each other, kids discover what they're capable of, and parents realize they're part of something bigger. Families need more spaces like this.

Tim Hortons in Tisdale presented us with a cheque for $10,131.90 today from smile cookie sales. That number represents every person who bought cookies, every community member who believed in what we're doing.
We're grateful. This kind of support fuels the work. It means families get access to services they need, kids get the help they deserve, and we can keep showing up in communities that matter. Thank you to Tim Hortons and everyone who purchased cookies! πŸͺ

We attended the Indigenous Perspectives on Autism and Neurodivergence seminar, featuring Dr. Grant Bruno. The lineup was solid: opening statements, multiple sessions with Dr. Bruno, panel discussion, and a video screening on neurodiversity in Indigenous communities.

Events like this matter. The conversations happening around autism and neurodivergence need Indigenous voices leading them. We were there to listen and learn.

πŸ‘ΆπŸšΆ This little man learned to walk. Now he's figuring out what comes next. He's reaching, exploring, testing his balance with toys around him.
Walking was the breakthrough. Now he's building on it, discovering independence one toy at a time. The therapist's right there, but he's leading. That's the difference between forced practice and actual growth. Well done, buddy.

We spotted a black bear on the way to Shoal Lake the other day. 🐻

Don't worry, we stayed safely in our vehicle, and it was nowhere near any communities. It's one of those reminders that we're working in some pretty wild and beautiful territory.

Working in remote areas means we get to serve communities that can be fairly isolated, and yeah, sometimes that means sharing the landscape with some incredible wildlife. It's all part of the work we do.

πŸ“š We use interactive books as a way to help kids explore language in a way that actually feels fun. When children can touch, hear, and see stories come to life, something clicks. They start connecting with words and sounds without it feeling like learning.

Kids engage differently when there's something interactive happening. They're curious, they want to touch the next page, they would like to hear what comes next. That's when real literacy foundations start building themselves.

We were invited to Yellow Quill for a community health fair! 🀝
We spent the day meeting people, connecting with families, and sharing information about early intervention and child development support.
The fair brought together organizations offering kidney testing, mental health support, dental care, nutrition education, and much more. It was a fantastic day being part of the community, thank you to everyone who came out!

BMO Financial Group donated $1,500 to support the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign! πŸͺπŸ’™ Their generosity added to what families and community members have contributed so far, creating a real impact for the kids and families we serve.

The Bank of Montreal understands that early intervention changes lives, and they're willing to invest in that work. That kind of partnership means everything to us. NEECIP is deeply grateful for businesses in our community who show up like this. Thank you, Bank of Montreal!
