10 Timmins Kiwanis Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron

10 Timmins Kiwanis Squadron is part of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program, a premiere national youth organization located in Timmins, Ontario.

The Royal Canadian Air Cadet program is a national organization for young Canadians aged 12 to 18 who are interested in participating in a variety of fun, challenging and rewarding activities while learning about the air activities of the Canadian Forces. The aims of the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Program are to develop the attributes of good citizenship and leadership, to promote physical fitness,

and to stimulate the interest of youth in the air activities of the Canadian Forces. All this achieved in a challenging, yet disciplined environment. Air Cadets are not members of the Canadian Forces. The movement is, however, sponsored by the Department of National Defence in partnership with the Air Cadet League of Canada. Currently there are over 400 Air Cadet Squadrons located across Canada with approximately 50,000 young people enrolled in the cadet program.

Teams from across the Timmins Zone, stretching from Hearst to Kirkland Lake, gathered at the local armouries this weekend to compete in the Zone 22 Marksmanship Competition. It was an incredible day of focus, discipline, and teamwork as cadets put their training to the test in a highly competitive environment.

We are extremely proud to announce that our team placed 1st overall in the zone, earning the top spot through hard work and determination.

A special congratulations goes out to WO2 Pulvera, who achieved Gold in the Open Category, and to FSgt Clancy, who brought home a Bronze Medal in the Open Category. Your dedication and commitment to excellence truly paid off.

Thank you to the staff, coaches, and supporters who continue to help our cadets grow and succeed. We are proud to represent our community and look forward to the next challenge.

Earlier this month we returned from an amazing cadet trip with 1884 Timmins Legion Army Cadet Corps where we visited the Base Borden Military Museum at CFB Borden, learned about historic aircraft and military vehicles, then explored the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Hamilton. We also took in the culture at the Royal Ontario Museum , enjoyed dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory, admired views from the CN Tower, had fun at Canada’s Wonderland, and got a behind-the-scenes look at the Area Control Centre and the Air Traffic Control Tower at Pearson International Airport. This trip gave cadets a unique blend of aviation history, science, culture, and real operational insight — memories to last a lifetime.

This past Sunday we hosted our 84th annual ceremonial review.

On behalf of all the officers and cadets we extend our most sincere thanks to all the friends, family, and distinguished guests who were in attendance.

The annual review is a culmination of many nights of hard work, and a final display of all the accomplishments the cadets made over the training year.

We are looking forward to next year, and all the amazing things we have in store for our cadets!

We are very excited to announce our Annual Ceremonial Review is right around the corner!

We can’t wait to welcome all friends and family to witness the amazing accomplishments our cadets have made this past year!

Cadets are asked to arrive at 0800 Sunday Morning for final practices. Friends and family will be welcome to begin arriving at 1215 for a prompt commencement of the parade at 1300.
