MPP Paul Vickers, the Parliamentary Assistant to the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Agribusiness, speaks to the importance of the Rural Ontario Institute (ROI) in serving its constituents through such programs as the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program.

The Member for Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound made the remarks at ROI’s Annual General Meeting held at the Guelph Arboretum. Established in 2010, the ROI serves rural and northern Ontario by delivering strong leadership programs, data analysis, events, programs and knowledge sharing tools to support those communities.

The presentation was an interesting analysis on the far-reaching ripple effect a policy can have on the economic, social and cultural fabric of local communities.

A great event that also featured a roundtable on the potential impact of Artificial Intelligence on those seeking employment. SCOR EDC is a proud supporter of the Elgin-Middlesex-Oxford Workforce Development & Planning Board, and its continued efforts to develop strong partnerships and advance workforce development.

Lawton expressed his pride in the EBRC’s work to bring Elgin businesses together with cross-marketing efforts that strengthen the community as a whole – a theme the SCOR Economic Development Corporation takes to heart – coordinating regional partnerships for the betterment of Elgin, Norfolk, Brant, Oxford and Middlesex counties.
