Inside our meat processing room, our volunteers were hard at work processing and packaging a 350 kg pig, generously donated by local farmers Charlie and Jody!

A huge thank you to Glenn, who led the operation (and kept everyone on track! ), along with Bill, Dez, our talented cook, and Chiara, for putting in the time and effort to make it all happen.

We’re so grateful to our farmers, volunteers, and community members who continue to support our mission- Let No One Go Hungry!

The Board of Directors of the Regional Food Distribution Association (RFDA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Kmill as the organization’s new Executive Director.

Mark has been with RFDA for more than two years and brings several years of experience working with local and regional community members, including First Nations communities. He also serves as a board member of Feed Ontario, providing him with valuable insight into the broader food security landscape across the province.

We love the Thunder Bay community! What a wonderful initiative and another great example of our community coming together!

We were grateful to receive a much-needed donation of fresh produce from the Old Fort. We will use this produce to prepare fresh salads, hearty soups, and wholesome meals for people and families experiencing food insecurity in our community.

Thank you to the Old Fort team and everyone involved for your continued generosity and support.

As a part of our mission to help fight food insecurity in our region, we sourced, prepared, and delivered over 3440 Kg of essential food items to Kasabonika First Nation, as evacuees start to prepare to go back to their land. We understand the loss from wildfire is irreplaceable, and it will take some time to recover from what was lost; we are doing our best to ensure that no one goes hungry! We thank all the partners, volunteers, and staff members for their efforts to make this happen.
