PRO Kids is a charity devoted to making recreation activities accessible for Thunder Bay children/youth who are unable to participate due to lack of funds.

Since it was established in 1998, PRO Kids has made nearly 22,270 placements of local children and youth into recreational activities in Thunder Bay. With over 200 community organizations to choose from, PRO Kids and its partners share in providing program spaces to local children and youth. Organizations donate spaces in their programs and PRO Kids fills these spaces with children who have applied for assistance. Each experience provides the opportunity for youth to develop into positive, contributing members of our community as they learn new skills, teamwork and cooperation. The sense of pride in their abilities leads to a sense of achievement and self-confidence.

🏒💙 Getting kids geared up and ready to hit the ice!

Our annual PRO Kids Hockey Equipment Giveaway helps local children and youth get the equipment they need to get in the game and enjoy the hockey season! ⛸️🥅

From skates and helmets to sticks, gloves, more, it was great to see so many young players finding the gear they needed and leaving ready for the rink! 🙌

A huge thank you to Play It Again Sports and Canadian Tire – Thunder Centre for helping us make this year’s giveaway possible, and to everyone in our community who generously donated new and gently used hockey equipment. 💫

🚨 A special shoutout to Keenan Marks, who collected a huge amount of hockey equipment for PRO Kids this summer!

We also want to give a special thank you to PRO Kids Board members Lance and Omer, along with all our volunteers who helped organize equipment, fit our young players, and make the evening run smoothly.

⛳️ Celebrating an incredible legacy of giving back! 💛

PRO Kids is so grateful to the Mike Sawicki Memorial Golf Tournament for another amazing year of support. This year, the 4th annual tournament donated over $10,000 to PRO Kids! 🎉🙌

Over the past 4 years, the Sawicki family has donated more than $36,000 to PRO Kids in Mike’s memory. Mike supported youth in sport while living in Alberta, and his family continues that legacy today by supporting youth right here in his hometown of Thunder Bay. 💙

We were thrilled to join the celebration at the golf course this year — the energy was palpable! 🏌️‍♂️

A very special thank you to Kris, Kathy, Madeline, the entire Sawicki family, and everyone who continues to make this tournament such a success. Your generosity is helping more local kids experience the joy of sport and recreation. 🫶

Thank you for making PRO Kids part of Mike’s incredible legacy! 💙
