🌸Register for 2-Day Mental Health First Aid Certification Training in Support of Our Kids Count🌸

Mental Health First Aid Certification provides the skills for participants to recognize changes in mental health, respond supportively, and apply practical help.

This is a 2-day, in-person course, taking place on November 2 & 3, 2026, from 9:45am-4:45pm ET at Our Kids Count Hub at 745 Simpson Street, Thunder Bay, ON. Lunch is provided both days.

✨Then Short Term Child Care program might work for you. It is run at our Westfort site(1315 Crawford Ave.) and is available in order to help support families to do things that they are unable to do with their little ones.🧸

🎨 A Mural Made with Love, Rooted in Community! ❤️🌱

We wanted to bring fun, love, and colour to the back of our new Community Hub, and we were thrilled to be introduced to talented artist Bree Rappaport!

Together, we reflected on the roots we planted over 30 years ago and what makes OKC so special. 🌳 From growing trees and branches to food, gathering spaces, people, and children’s handprints, every detail tells a piece of our story.

And here’s the fun part… 👀 It’s an I Spy adventure! Can you find the pear? 🍐 The soup ladle? 🥄 So many little details to discover!

What makes this mural truly special is that our community participants from our Planning Team helped shape and create it, dedicating hours of painting and pouring love into every brushstroke.

A huge thank you to Bree for leading the way and to everyone who shared their ideas, time, and talents to bring this beautiful vision to life.

It’s more than a mural. It’s our story, our roots, and our community….all on one wall! ❤️
