Join us as we explore the Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit Principles.

Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) Principles are Inuit teachings that provide a culturally grounded sense of purpose and inherent responsibilities. The wisdom of these teaching ground how we live a good life; guiding respectful relationships, management practices, and governance. The IQ Principles serve a similar role as the Indigenous 7 Sacred/Grandfather Teachings.

The principle of Inuuqatigiitsiarniq teaches us about respecting others, relationships and caring for people.

Violence against Indigenous women is not isolated.

It is a multi-dimensional social issue rooted in colonialism and connected to intergenerational trauma.

Addressing family violence requires an all-encompassing approach โ€” one that advances Indigenous Peoplesโ€™ right to self-determination and supports both individual and collective community healing.

To build safer futures, we must address the root causes of violence, not only the harm after it happens.
