We are so excited to share that Playgrounds is running this summer! Participants aged 5 (by the end of 2023)-12 will be playing games, doing crafts and enjoying themed days!

All days are drop in!No pre-registration required!

Playgrounds Sites:

Playgrounds sites run from July 3-Aug. 24/23 and are open from 9:30 am - 4 pm. All sites will be closed July 28/23 and Aug. 7/23.

This year's sites include:

North Side:
Current River Rink Shack
North McIntyre Community Centre - Main Hall
Oliver Road Community Centre - Lower Level (running Monday-Thursday; Friday events will be posted on Facebook)
Volunteer Pool Community Centre - Main Hall (upstairs)

South Side:
Elsie MacGill (Starts July 4/23)
McKellar Park School - Gym (Starts July 4/23)
West Arthur Community Centre - Main Hall
Wayland Park/Rink Shack

Healthy Kids Thunder Bay is a collaborative of community partners working together to improve children’s health. It brings together residents and community partners to provide evidence-informed programming around physical activity, nutrition, smoking prevention and cessation, mental health, and other topics identified by participants. This unique collaboration will contribute to shaping healthier children and families within our City by strengthening the knowledge, skills, and abilities of families in these neighbourhoods to engage in healthy-living strategies and access community services.

Sad about our program ending? Trust us, we are too. Good news is our participants can still join in on the fun! 💫

Youth Move is for anyone between the ages of 10 to 18 looking for ways to get involved in their community, make some new friends and try different activities. Youth Move has drop-in sites, registered special events, and registered virtual programming.

Youth Move drop in sites are year-round spaces where youth are free to stop by. These include: Kinsmen Youth Centre, Minnesota Park, Canada Games Complex and the North End Community Centre!
