Last week alone we distributed over 1,310 sandwiches to those experiencing food and housing insecurity, meaning donations like this certainly make a BIG difference in our ability to provide this vital service!

THIS is how we do here in Ontario! These two incredible human beings, Shannon (left) and Jesse (right) from TORONTO, felt called to action when they heard about the devastation of NWO in the wake of the ravishing wild fires. They rented a , packed it with urgently needed supplies including: clothing, food, hygiene products and so so much more. However, by the time they reached NWO mutual community aid had already brilliantly filled up the donation reception centres. But, the couple were determined to contribute to the needs of their northern Ontario brothers, sisters, theys and thems! They arrived early Saturday morning with so much love and generosity - so much that we called our pals from PACE Thunder Bay to come over and share in the wealth!

We had a BUMPIN' week last week! 😅On Wednesday we teamed up with some epic community partners for programming and on Friday we hosted the 's trailer with PACE Thunder Bay to give George Street some TLC. It is inspiring to see all of the people who show up to these events; to participate, to learn, to give back, to grow.

is back this week with a reminder that underhoused individuals tend to be in a constant state of grief and loss; of loved ones, of old versions of themselves, of their last piece of ID, of their only worldly possessions.

At Shelter House we recognize the lack of meaningful, safe storage solutions for individuals who have been systemically pushed to the margins, especially those in our local encampments. Our staff sit with people day in and day out who are navigating these challenges, some we can help with and others we can only listen and empathize.
