DID YOU KNOW THAT DRUG ABUSE CAN AFFECT MORE THAN THE BRAIN?

Some people think the consequences of hard drug use are limited to addiction and changes in behaviour. But certain substances can also cause serious muscle damage, nerve injuries, stroke, and other complications that may affect a person’s ability to walk.

In severe cases, these complications can lead to long-term disability and wheelchair dependence.

Not everyone who uses drugs will experience these complications, and being in a wheelchair does not automatically mean drugs caused the disability. Every person deserves proper medical assessment.

Let us educate ourselves, protect our young people, encourage early intervention, and support those struggling with substance use.

One decision can have serious consequences. Awareness can save lives.
