Midway Bible Camp Just 20 km South of Thompson, Midway Bible Camp is a place for children, youth and families to make friends, learn about God and grow together!

We are a camp for children, youth and families focused on telling others about the love that Jesus Christ has for us. We do this through Bible stories, games, activities and devotions. Kids ages 6-17 are welcome at camp, where each will take part in a week-long session during which they will learn valuable life skills, how to love God and love others, enjoy fun games and great food! Each week we have a different speaker come and share stories from the Bible twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. There is time for memory work, activities, snacks and sharing. Our goal is that everyone hears about the life-saving power of God through Jesus Christ His son, and how we can live without the chains that bind us! Send us a message on Facebook, email us for more information about this, or drop by 151 Deerwood in Thompson to register for camp, or anything else we may be able to help with! [email protected]

Update...update,
Not sure exactly but it sounds like Randy and Evangeline got on the road and should be in Nelson House by about 7:45. They will plan to set up and begin.

My apologies for all the confusion!

If you are in Nelson House come and be encouraged to follow Jesus.

When I first started following God I didn't really have any role models to look to. I was mostly just hoping what I was doing is right by reading the Bible and studying it. I would say the hardest thing about following God like that is actually studying the Bible. Coming to Bible camp to study the Bible during SALT I learned so much. As I learned to study tbe Bible I have been able to put more of what I learned into practice and then I could share that with other people.

Quote from one of our staff, "When I came to camp a few years ago I was in a really dark place. I came for SALT to just get away and relive some of my good memories as a kid camper but then planned to just end it. What I experienced was the love of God and it brought me hope. As I learned more about his love for me I decided to just follow the Lord Jesus. It was so worth it. I talked to the director about following Jesus and getting baptized."

This, now young adult, has been a counsellor at camp and a regular at youth Bible study and church for a number of years now. He is growing to base all his relationships on Jesus and sharing the same love and truth of Jesus with hundreds of others.

Folks,

While we like to show the positive sides of campers and staff, sometimes we as Christians just have to let others know of our struggles. From last week, a long-time camper and now staff felt the need to express his struggles and wanted you to read it.

"I feel a lot of resentment , bitterness, [and] anger building up. I’m learning to hand it to God instead of letting it control my life. I find myself wanting to act bitter. That’s not good, for me, or staff, or campers. I really wish I didn’t feel anything."

Please pray for those who are struggling internally and externally, and be like what was said about learning to hand it to God.

"Carry each other's burdens, and in this way will fulfill the law of Christ. " -- Galatians 6:2

God bless.

Here are prayer requests from our campers last week:

“To try more foods.”

“I would like to see my mom again.”

“To help me be a great kid-Christian.” 🙂

“Can you pray for me?”

God bless!

We asked our staff what did they experience, learn, or gain biblically, and here's what a couple of them said they learned from interacting with campers:

"Well, I learn that they are still growing and learning and not to be hard [on] them."

"Patience!!!"

"It was good seeing past campers excited to memorize verses."

"The questions that they ask are much more simple than I’m used to. I actually had to think in order to answer the more basic biblical questions."

"A lot of them are really eager to share stories from their life. That’s cool."

"I did not interact much with campers this week but during skill and chapel. They would participate or have good answers when I would ask them questions in skill."

"Spending time with the campers was fun and it felt good when they would ask for things and I could help."

"Memorizing Bible verses is important! Campers are able to take a part of God’s word home with them and I need to do more of this too."

"I was taught patience from my campers when I wanted to be on time for places and needed to take a step back and remember to wait for them,"
