Today and everyday, we celebrate and recognize the strength, resilience, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. On National Indigenous Peoples Day, we honor Indigenous communities across Canada and their lasting impact on our communities.

Today, we honour and remember the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People on Red Dress Day.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect, learn, and take action. Together, we can raise awareness, support one another, and work toward a future where Indigenous women, girls, and Two-Spirit people are safe, respected, and valued.

On May 5th, the Northern Manitoba Trappers Festival will be holding our Annual General Meeting. This date is also Red Dress Day — the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit People.

We take a moment to recognize the importance of this day, honor the lives lost, and stand with the families and communities who continue to be impacted.

To acknowledge the significance of the day, an Elder will open the meeting with a prayer, offering a moment of reflection and respect.

We encourage everyone to take time, in their own way, to reflect and show support on this important day.
