We talk about accessibility like it’s just ramps and sidewalks.
But what about:
Healthcare
Mental healthcare
Law enforcement
Because accessibility doesn’t stop at the door.
If the systems meant to serve people don’t understand disability —
don’t include disabled voices —
don’t train for real-world interaction…
Then participation breaks down.
Not just physically.
Systemically.
You can’t participate in a society:
• if healthcare dismisses you
• if mental health systems misunderstand you
• if law enforcement escalates instead of supports
Accessibility isn’t a feature.
It’s infrastructure.
And infrastructure includes systems.
Accessibility is participation — everywhere.
