David Gray, Chief Electoral Officer for the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF), the National Government of the , released the list of polling locations for the upcoming election. Polls are required in six of the seven Regions of the MMF.

There are 50 polling locations for Election Day on June 23. Advance polls will start on June 13, 2026.

On This Day in History: The Battle of Batoche (May 9-12, 1885)

A defining moment in Métis history and the last major fight of the North-West Resistance, the Battle of Batoche was a stand for land, rights, and identity.

For four long days, Métis warriors and their First Nations allies bravely defended their way of life against overwhelming Canadian forces. Despite dwindling resources, they fought with grit and courage, standing firm in the face of injustice.

Though the battle was lost, the Métis spirit endured. The Battle of Batoche remains a powerful symbol of Métis resilience and the ongoing struggle for recognition and rights.

Today, we honour the legacy of our ancestors and carry forward their strength and determination, their courage echoes through time. Our history must never be forgotten.
