It has been a busy start to the season at the Kitselas Canyon! ☀️

Thankful for Desiree Bolton and her wealth of knowledge to be able to show some staff cedar harvesting again this year! 🌲

With our new deck almost completed thanks to Adam Toovey and Sebastian Daigneault, our gift shop and washrooms will be more accessible for our guests with extra mobility needs☺️🙌🏽

The Kitselas Canyon National Historic Site is officially open for the season! ☀️🏔️

We are in the midst of some exciting new updates, including a new deck to make our gift shop and washroom more accessible for all our visitors 🌸 So don’t let the ongoing construction deter you, our gift shop is still open to check out merch and to grab a snack/drink before or after your walk through the longhouses and down the walking trail!🌲😊

Check out this excellent documentary about the history and peoples of the Skeena River. Our very own Darren Bolton gave the filmmakers a look at Kitselas Canyon and invited them to witness the historic raising of the Salmon Prince pole at the new Kitselas Community Centre in 2026.
