Article 1 – Name and Seal
The name of the Organization is Wakanda OutReach Center (W.O.R.C.) Article 2 – Aim
The Organization exists for the
advancement of children, youth and their families within the City of Windsor and Essex County. Article 3 – Membership
Membership is open to all persons and organizations committed to doing what is best for children, youth and their families and have a strong belief that every person has an innate ability to learn, grow and develop. Article 4 – The Executive Officers
The Executive Officers of the Organization consist of the Executive Director, the Membership Officer, the Communications Officer, the Secretary, the Treasurer and any other officer(s) appointed by the Board. Article 5 – Not For Profit Status
The Organization does not have a purpose of financial gain for its members. Any profits or other accretions to the organization shall be used in promoting the advancement of
Wakanda OutReach Center (W.O.R.C.) In the event of dissolution or winding-up of the Organization, all the remaining assets, after payment of liabilities, shall be distributed first to other Wakanda OutReach Centers or to one or more non-profit organizations in Canada having similar interests. The Objectives of the Corporation
Establish and maintain a recreational facility for children, youth, and adults in the city of Windsor. Relieve poverty by operating a food bank for persons of low income and establishing a micro lending program for start-up businesses out of the recreational facility. Advance education by providing scholarships based on academic achievement to allow high school graduates to attend first year university and offering courses, seminars and workshops on anger management, conflict resolution, marketing, finance and bookkeeping to youth and persons of low income. Promoting health by providing public health programs to increase awareness of mental health issues, and slow the progression of obesity and heart disease through seminars and workshops. Addressing youth unemployment by providing employment-related skills programs, conferences, and workshops to unemployed youth. Advancing the public’s appreciation of the arts by providing the public with: ● Cultural performances and showcasing works of art free
● High-quality theatrical performances
The operations of the Corporation may be carried out within Windsor and Essex County. In accordance with Section 65 of the Canada Corporations Act
