It’s been a couple of weeks since our Annual Poker Derby, and we’re still feeling the impact. A huge shout out to the Tagish community and all across the Yukon for showing up in such a big way. To our incredible volunteers—you made the magic happen. And to our sponsors—this event simply wouldn’t be possible without you. We are beyond grateful.

One year ago today, we watched the Tagish Community Centre burn.

It was heartbreaking to see a place that held so many memories — gatherings, meals, laughter, and community — gone in a single night.

But what followed over the past year has been something truly powerful.

People showed up.

Neighbours helping neighbours. Volunteers stepping forward. Friends from across Tagish, Southern Lakes area, Whitehorse, and the Yukon reaching out with support, encouragement, donations, and time.

To every single volunteer who has helped with events, fundraisers, meetings, and all the work behind the scenes — thank you.
Your dedication and heart have carried this community through a very difficult year.

This past year has reminded us of something important:

Community isn’t a building. It’s the people who come together and support each other when it matters most.

And if the past year has shown us anything, it’s this — the heart of Tagish has never been stronger. ❤️

The Poker Derby & Spring Carnival is almost here and we’re ready for a full day of Yukon-style fun!
