Few Pictures from today's last Fish Friends @ Sheerwood Jr High . Brent , Ranni , Taylor & Walter all went out to get the tank cleaned up and ready for storage . After we all bagged up the fish we had 18 students accompany us with thier Teacher to release them in the brook going thru the Baile Ard Trail . The students enjoyed themselves despite the rainy conditions. It was a excellent finale to this yrs program, student stated they learned a lot on the development stages from Egg to Fry stage. We had about a 70-75 % success rate

Today's fish release is from our own stock tank set up at Murray's place , these are from same eggs we put in the school Fish Friends program , Walter took a batch today and by luck he ran into a class out for a walk thru Baille Ard trail and they watched and asked questions about the release . Kids could be heard but not photographed but the teachers who were present allowed me to do so as he did the release . They thanked me but I said it's a Club effort as we all contribute .
Second location was Power Lake a area I thought could use a boost in fish population. There was a Loon present and plenty of small minnow population along the shore line . Water is of clear & clean , so the release of trout fry should help this lake thrive even more . Hopefully Brent & Ranni had just a good or better day doing tank #6 in Waycobah today .

Yesterday we put #5 in the books as to say of our Fish Friends project . Brent and Walter drove up to Potlotek to close out and get the tank cleaned up for storage till next yr . We were able to release about 200 Trout Fry into the ecosystem and brook just a short walk from the school where the kids joined in to release them and watch them to take hold into thier new home . Another great outcome for this project and the kids enjoyed themselves along with their teachers as well as learned about how this will help benefit areas to hold a healthy ecosystem .

Today Brent and Walter made the trip up to Eskasoni to meet up with Jeramiaha Johnson of UINR to close out another Fish Tank project and put another one in the books . The teachers and kids walked over with us to the book adjacent to the school where the kids could take part in the release of around 160 plus Trout Fry and give back to the ecosystem of the area . Next up is Potlotek on Wednesday.
