A SISTER'S TRIBUTE — AMY SAMPSON-YOUNG TAKES THE STAGE

We are delighted to announce that AMY SAMPSON-YOUNG — sister of the legendary GORDIE SAMPSON — will be joining the stage on June 18th at Centre 200 for a heartfelt performance honouring her brother and Hall of Fame inductee, GORDIE SAMPSON!

The Sampson family's musical roots run deep, and Amy carries that same Cape Breton spirit and passion that has made her brother a global songwriting force. There's nothing quite like the bond of family — and to see Amy stand on stage to celebrate Gordie's incredible legacy will be a moment filled with love, pride, and pure Cape Breton heart.

From the same family, the same hometown, and the same deep well of musical talent, Amy's tribute promises to be one of the most touching moments of the night.

KEEPING IT IN THE FAMILY — KEITH MULLINS HITS THE STAGE

We are excited to announce that the powerhouse talent Keith Mullins — cousin of the legendary GORDIE SAMPSON — will be taking the stage on June 18th at Centre 200 for a special performance honouring his cousin and Hall of Fame inductee, GORDIE SAMPSON!

Music runs deep in this family, and Keith is living proof. A multi-award-winning singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Keith Mullins has earned some of the music industry's most prestigious honours — including ECMA and Music Nova Scotia awards, and most recently, a coveted JUNO Award!

To see Keith stand on stage and pay tribute to his cousin — a fellow Cape Bretoner who has shaped the global music industry — is a celebration of family, heritage, and the unstoppable musical spirit that this island produces generation after generation.

Same roots. Same fire. Same Cape Breton soul.

Being Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame 2026 is right around the corner, it is wonderful timing to learn that Joella Foulds is the first 2026 Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame Services to Community inductee.

Hands up for Trad is an organization that is promoting Scotland's rich musical culture to the public and media. And they chose on of Cape Bretons Legends. Nice!

Cape Breton Island

🌟 We're thrilled to introduce our first 2026 Scottish Traditional Music Hall of Fame Services to Community inductee: Joella Foulds!

Joella is the visionary co-founder of the Celtic Colours International Festival in Cape Breton — a remarkable event that has spent decades building creative bridges between Scottish and Cape Breton traditional music, transforming opportunities for musicians on both sides of the Atlantic.

In a testament to her extraordinary passion and commitment, Joella returned as Artistic Director of Celtic Colours aged 81 for the 2025 festival — which then went on to win Event of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards. Truly inspiring.

A NASHVILLE STAR COMES HOME — AMELIE SAMPSON JOINS THE STAGE

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented AMELIE SAMPSON will be joining our house band on June 18th at Centre 200 for a very special performance honouring her father and Hall of Fame inductee, GORDIE SAMPSON.

Amelie has grown up surrounded by the "pure songwriter music craziness" of Nashville, but her heart and her music are deeply rooted in the summers she spent right here in Cape Breton. Now, she is stepping into the spotlight to embark on her own extraordinary musical journey.

About Amelie Sampson: At just 21 years old, Amelie is already making waves in the industry. Having recently released her debut single "Houdini" (co-written with her father and fellow Cape Bretoner Dylan Guthro), she is proving that the Sampson songwriting legacy is in very capable hands.

From watching her father win a Grammy as a young child to now becoming a full-time writer and performer herself, Amelie brings a fresh, modern sound that blends her Nashville upbringing with the authentic Cape Breton spirit she learned while jamming with her grandmother, Flo.

To see Amelie take the stage to honour Gordie — the man who taught her to "dare to suck" in pursuit of greatness — will be a beautiful, full-circle moment for the Sampson family and for all of us in the audience.

The legacy continues. The music lives on.

A FAMILY TRIBUTE FROM THE HEART

We are deeply honoured to announce that FIONA and CIARAN MacGILLIVRAY will be joining our house band as special guests on stage at the Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame on June 18th at Centre 200 — in a heartfelt tribute to their father, the beloved Hall of Fame inductee, ALLISTER MacGILLIVRAY.

Allister MacGillivray is a name woven into the very fabric of Cape Breton's musical soul. A celebrated composer, author, and musician, his contributions to Cape Breton's cultural identity run deep and wide — and his legacy lives on in the music he gave this island, and in the remarkable children he raised.

To see Fiona and Ciaran take the stage in their father's honour — at the very event that celebrates his lasting legacy — will be one of those rare, goosebump moments that only Cape Breton can deliver.

This is what it means to pass the torch. This is what it means to carry on a legacy with love.

His music. His children. His Cape Breton.

LIKE MOTHER, LIKE DAUGHTER — A FAMILY TRIBUTE FOR THE AGES

We are overjoyed to announce that the incredibly talented MARY FRANCES LEAHY will be joining her mother, the legendary NATALIE MacMASTER, on stage at the Cape Breton Music Industry Hall of Fame on June 18th at Centre 200 — together honouring the incomparable fiddle legend and Hall of Fame inductee, BUDDY MacMASTER.

This isn't just a performance. This is three generations of Cape Breton musical greatness on one stage.

Who is Mary Frances Leahy? The oldest daughter of Natalie MacMaster and Donnell Leahy, Mary Frances is a fiddle player, pianist, step dancer, and composer who has already lived a musical life most artists only dream of — and she's just getting started.

With an estimated 600+ live performances since the age of five, Mary Frances has: Performed piano alongside the iconic Yo-Yo Ma - Appeared on Little Big Shots with Steve Harvey - Featured on the Carmen Nebel TV Show in Germany 🎄 Starred in A Celtic Family Christmas special - Won the Cape Breton Tourism Music Contest for her original composition "First Light" Had two original compositions — "Choo Choo" and "Colour Theory" — featured on her parents' critically acclaimed release CANVAS

Rooted deeply in her Celtic heritage but boldly reaching into jazz and Latin influences, Mary Frances is forging her own extraordinary musical identity — and Cape Breton is where it all began.

To see her stand beside her mother Natalie, on the night they honour the man whose fiddle started it all — Buddy MacMaster — will be a moment of pure, unforgettable magic.

Three generations. One stage. One legendary legacy.
