๐Ÿงก National Day for Truth and Reconciliation ๐Ÿงก

Today, we take time to remember and honor the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities.

We recognize the deep and lasting impact residential schools have had on generations of Indigenous Peoples, while also honoring the strength, courage, and resilience of Survivors, families, and communities.

Today is also an opportunity for each of us to listen, learn, reflect, and better understand the truths of our shared history. Reconciliation is not something that happens in a single day. It is an ongoing commitment to building relationships grounded in respect, understanding, compassion, and truth.

As we wear orange today, may we remember those whose lives were forever changed by residential schools and honor those who continue to carry their stories.

May we continue to listen, to learn, and to walk forward together toward healing and reconciliation. ๐Ÿงก
