CBRM Fire and Emergency Services is launching a Free Smoke Alarm Installation Program to ensure residents have working smoke alarms in their homes, while also providing fire safety education.

Residents can now request a free smoke alarm by completing a short online form.

To ensure the program benefits as many residents as possible, one smoke alarm will be provided per floor with bedrooms. For example, if you have two bedrooms on the same floor, youโ€™ll receive one alarm. If bedrooms are on two different floors, youโ€™ll receive two alarms.

Due to limited supply, smoke alarms will be distributed based on need and in the order requests are received. The deadline to apply is October 31, 2025, or while supplies last.

Learn more about the program and apply at www.cbrm.ns.ca/smoke-alarm-installation-program.html

Whatโ€™s on your plate could be shaping your mood, focus, and energy.
