Early Years Family Resource Centre will be CLOSED on Friday, October 16th.

Plan to join us again on Saturday, October 17th. The free, drop-in learning program for caregivers and children of all early years ages to explore and enjoy together is ON between 9:30am-12pm - Let's Play!

The Swift Current Fire Station Tour is also happening on Saturday morning! All spaces in this tour are full. If your family has registered, we look forward to seeing you there!

And, there are still a few spots open in the next series of Welcome to Rec Families & Tots. If your family is looking for something fun to do on Tuesday evenings starting Oct 20-Nov 10, head on over to swiftcurrent.ca/play to register today! Families are welcome to arrive anytime after 6pm to enjoy open play before the Tiny Talkers program begins at 6:30.

Storytime happens each Thursday at 10am at the Swift Current Branch Library. Check it out!

🍂 This week at the library, we have something for everyone! 🍁

Join us for our kids' programs throughout the week: Storytime, LEGO Club, and Teen Makerspace. Plus, don't miss out on our adult programs like Mahjong, Scrabble, and Magic: The Gathering. Bring your own deck!

And on the weekend, stop in for LEGO Club, Teen Makerspace, and drop-in board games.

Please note that we'll be closed today for Thanksgiving. Enjoy the holiday!

We can’t wait to see you Friday, October 9th. The free, drop-in learning program designed for caregivers and children of all early years ages to explore and enjoy together is ON between 9:30am-12pm and 1pm-3pm – Let’s Play!

Plus, on this beautiful Fall day, we’re planning to go on a Nature Walk starting around 10:45am. While playing inside beforehand, families will have the opportunity to make bird feeders which can be taken outside to the play space too.

Outdoor and nature play spaces value the curiosities of children, promote their healthy development, and respect their need to have physical interaction with the natural world. They offer:

Rich, sensory first-hand experience, which is essential for growing minds;

Engagement with the wonder and mystery of the natural world;

Space and freedom to explore questions, experiment, and investigate;

Space for whole-bodied, creative play and imagination;

Opportunities for meaningful learning in all areas of the curriculum;

Engagement with key concepts such as gradient, gravity, speed, and energy;

Opportunities for adventure, risk, and challenge.
