Thank you, Cypress Regional Hospital staff.

On June 2, the Dr. Noble Irwin Foundation hosted a Staff Appreciation Barbeque, serving over 230 staff members and emergency services team members.

We were thankful the rain held off long enough for everyone to enjoy delicious barbecue burgers, hot dogs, Caesar salad, watermelon, and donuts!

A special thank you to our sponsors and supporters, Safeway, Treen Packers, and the hospital cafeteria, as well as all of the volunteers who helped make this event possible.

Clayton is a Continuing Care Aid on the Medical/Surgical Departments

I have been an Orderly for the majority of my employment - now called a Continuing Care Aid. Although I also worked in stores, plant operations, and the operating room over my career. I started in May 1989 so 37 years.

My favorite thing is helping people in whatever way I can.

I also worked as a primary care paramedic for 23 years with Swift Current Ambulance while being employed full time at the hospital.

I have many hobbies. I bred and showed pure bred Dobermans for 40 years, got my pilots license when I was 20. I am also an advanced scuba diver and have done body recoveries for the RCMP. I have horses that I thoroughly enjoy and I am an artist and do paintings and drawings.

I have 3 daughters and 5 grandchildren and will have my first great grandchild.

~ About Alyssa ~

Alyssa is a Registered Respiratory Therapist and has worked at the hospital since November 2024.

My typical day varies! In my position I am responsible for the respiratory concerns of every unit and outpatients. I manage ventilated patients in ICU, assist with airway management with different types of oxygen support such as Airvo, BiPAP, and perform intubation in ER. I provide home oxygen assessments and assist with oxygen and medication optimization on MedSurg, attend all C-sections and high risk deliveries and help manage pediatric patients admitted with respiratory concerns. On outpatient days I perform lung function testing and home oxygen assessments, as well as respiratory education and smoking cessation help.

My favourite thing about the job is the people. I absolutely love my patients and having the ability to provide help and comfort in some of the scariest times of a persons life.

I am from Saskatoon and moved to Swift for this position! I am married and my husband and I have a 9-year-old staffy/husky mix pup named Moose! We just recently bought an acreage a few minutes outside of the city and we are now working on getting trees and grass planted and making our house a home! I love being in Swift Current and am so grateful to be in the position I am in!
