605 Tarry Royal Canadian Air Cadets 605 Tarry is an Air Cadet Squadron located in the City of Swift Current. Founded in 1955, we welcome all youth aged 12 to 19. Col.

The Royal Canadian Air Cadets is a national youth organization for youth aged 12 to 18, sponsored by the Air Cadet League and the Department of National Defense. The organization is made up of many training centre's, headquarters, and most importantly, squadrons. 605 TARRY Squadron, located in Swift Current, Saskatchewan is one of over 450 Air Cadet Squadrons across Canada. Squadron meet once a week on Wednesday from 6:30 to 9:00 pm at the Lt. Iver Clifton Centre at 350 6th Avenue NE. While there, they are instructed in subjects such as aviation, citizenship, leadership, effective speaking, survival, drill, range, sports and much more!

In honour of the 125th anniversary of Lord Strathcona's Horse, the regiment was invited by King Charles III himself to take duty as the Kings Life Guard for days this month.

This is the second time the honour has been given to this regiment, the first being in 2000 when they celebrated thier 100th anniversary.

This is just the third time in history that a foreign unit has held this post. Lord Strathcona's Horse has done it twice, and the RCMP held the post in 2012 for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee.

This should make us all proud to be Canadian. 🍁

Over the years there are many cadets that come and go through the program, some stay in touch with squadron staff, some don’t…but every now and then you run into a former cadet or one will connect through social media.
Today, our CO received a message from a former air cadet Daniel Choquette, who joined the Canadian Armed Forces after his time at 605 RCACS in Swift Current. Cpl Choquette is a member of the Lord Strathcona’s Horse Regiment and I think the message he sent today reinforces that you never know where this program will take you!! Congratulations Cpl Choquette on your achievements and sharing them with us, we are proud of you!
