OPCMIA Local 919 is pleased to announce the 18th annual Bob Murray Memorial Bursary.

The $1,000 bursary is available to children and grandchildren of OPCMIA 919 members in good standing. The child must be 17 years of age or older and finishing grade 12 or already enrolled in post-secondary.

Applicants must complete a 500-word essay about unions to be eligible. Deadline to apply is Friday, December 4, 2026. Send applications to [email protected].

The application should include:

-Your name
-Your employer
-Your union card number
-Child’s name
-Child’s date of birth
-Child’s current school
-Essay

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of pensioner Romeo Riga.

Romeo spent many years as a dedicated OPCMIA Local 919 member. We are sending love to his family, friends and union colleagues.

Romeo passed away on September 29, 2026, in Burnaby at the age of 92.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Helen’s Parish (3860 Triumph Street, Burnaby).
