Our Level 2 Cement Mason apprentices have been hard at work learning how to set up steel curb and gutter formworks. They also had the opportunity to learn about survey hubs and offsets.

We are incredibly proud of the work our members' have delivered on the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project!

Here at the precast concrete facility, a steel rebar cage is positioned inside a guideway segment mold.

Concrete will be poured into the mold to create the elevated guideway segment. Over 4,400 segments will be produced at this facility for the Surrey Langley SkyTrain project!

The provincial government has announced that the Site C Dam will be renamed as the John Horgan Dam and Generating Station.

OPCMIA Local 919 is pleased to see Premier Horgan's name on this important piece of infrastructure. John was a great supporter of construction unions and the labour movement in general. His legacy will only grow more as the namesake of a dam that will power homes across British Columbia for decades to come!

It was great to catch our Local 919 cement masons plying their craft! These members are working with Amrize out at 152nd Street and 64th Avenue in Surrey! Keep up the excellent work!

Our Local 919 instructor Ron Adamson was up in Terrace recently for a Training Awareness Program. It was great working with these hard-working young people. They have bright futures ahead of them!
