May. 23rd.

Another meaningful day at MTE House ✨

In our 1st session, students worked on revising their essays with Jina — learning how to organize ideas clearly, add meaningful details, and write stories that can encourage others. We talked about growth, hope, and the power of writing with purpose.

Dinner was homemade curry prepared by Jaeun, who kindly cooked everything on her own despite the busy schedule 🍛

During the 2nd session, guest speakers Hyeyeon Choi and Edward Lin introduced the basics of saving and building wealth. From emergency funds to investments and the Rule of 72, it was a challenging topic, but everyone stayed engaged and tried their best to learn together.

Ending the day by cleaning up MTE House together 🏡
Small steps, steady growth, and another evening of learning as a community 💛

MTE Outing Day 🌿🎶✨
📅 May 16

What a meaningful and joy-filled outing we had today!

We first gathered at Burnaby Central Park, where members of the Vancouver Korean Youth Council personally visited us to deliver a donation. We are so thankful for their support and encouragement 💛

Afterward, we enjoyed a fun plogging session around the park — walking, exercising, and picking up litter together. A perfect combination of staying healthy while giving back to the community!

In between the plogging session and the evening concert, MTE leader Ms. Anne attended the Taste of Asia event to promote MTE’s upcoming July 4 fundraising music concert. We are excited to continue sharing MTE’s vision with the wider community and connecting with more people through these meaningful events ✨

For dinner, we headed to Todak Todak Korean Restaurant and shared a warm and delicious Korean meal filled with laughter and conversation 🍲✨

Then came a truly special evening. We attended the “Love Concert” hosted by the Vancouver Women’s Association in support of single-parent families. From piano and violin solos to orchestra performances and beautiful vocal music, every moment felt inspiring and unforgettable 🎻🎹🎶

And of course… the night couldn’t end there 😆
We wrapped up the outing with a joyful late-night snack stop at A&W!

Seriously… when will our kids ever stop being hungry? 😂🍔
Another happy, meaningful, and memory-filled day with MTE! 💛

May. 9th.

1st Session – with Anne

We watched and discussed Katie Forbes’s TEDx talk, “Autism is a Difference, Not a Disorder.”
Together, we reflected on the pressure many autistic individuals feel to “mask” themselves to fit into society, while also recognizing the unique strengths, perspectives, and individuality that autism can bring. It was a thoughtful reminder of why a more inclusive and understanding society matters 💛

2nd Session – with Jina

Writing Workshop: “Why Do I Participate in MTE?”
Everyone worked hard on the first draft of their essays and earned rewards for their effort! Afterward, we focused on improving our writing through revision questions.
We were reminded once again that writing is not just schoolwork — it’s an important life skill and a powerful way to share our voices.

Dinner 🍕

Pizza time together is always a win!

Movie Night 🎬

We enjoyed watching Michael Jackson at Landmark Cinemas. We were so disappointed that we didn’t get the chance to take a photo in front of the Michael Jackson movie poster 😭 But thanks to Ms. Jinhee, we now have a fun commemorative edited photo to remember the moment!

✨ Special News

During our brief meeting, we shared exciting news that MTE is expected to receive a $5,000 grant through the BC Multiculturalism and Anti-Racism Grant Program!
We are thrilled to collaborate with many local organizations on upcoming community events.

Another inspiring and meaningful day at MTE 🌱

MTE Outdoor Session ⚽🌿✨
📍 Serpentine Heights Park, Surrey
📅 May 2, 2026

We had a beautiful day outdoors filled with energy, teamwork, and community!

1st Session – Soccer Class
Led by Nayul, a Grade 12 student who dreams of becoming a soccer coach, this was his first time leading a group — and he did an amazing job! With thoughtful preparation and great leadership, he guided the kids through a fun and engaging soccer session. It was such a success that we’re already planning the next one ⚽🔥

Dinner – with Jina
We enjoyed a delicious homemade meal of sandwiches and chamnamul (Korean wild greens) pancakes. Made with fresh greens from her own garden, the pancakes were full of aroma and flavor — a truly special and heartfelt meal 💛

✨ Highlights

Suan showed wonderful care for younger Riun, playing ball together and thoughtfully looking after him throughout the session.
A big thank you to Jade and his mom, Eileen, for joining us as volunteers! Their participation and enthusiasm brought great energy to the group, and we’re excited to have more volunteer involvement in the future.

A day full of growth, kindness, and connection — the heart of MTE 🌱
