Happy Tail Update: Toad (formerly Victoria)! 🐾💕

Everything is going wonderfully for Toad in her new home! Her family shared that she settled in quickly and has made herself right at home. They even decided to give her a new name, as Victoria felt just a little too formal for her personality. 😅

Toad is a super affectionate and chatty girl who always has something to say. One of her cutest quirks is carrying her mini Squishmallow around with her wherever she goes, making sure her favorite toy is never far away.

We're so happy to hear she's thriving and living her best life with her loving family. ❤️

Happy Tail for Zoe (formerly Olivia)! 🐾❤️

Zoe has come such a long way since arriving in her new home! What started as a shy kitty who spent her days hiding behind the couch has turned into a much more confident cat who's busy racing around the house, exploring every corner, and showing off her jumping skills.

She's also making great progress with her resident cat friend. The hisses are a thing of the past, and she's even started making the sweetest little trilling sounds. While Zoe still likes her space when she's feeling overwhelmed, she's become so much more relaxed, playful, and comfortable in her surroundings.

We're thrilled to see her personality shining brighter every day. Thank you to her loving family for giving her the patience and support she needed to blossom! 💕

Ella's family checked in with some great news:

"Ella is perfectly healthy and happy, she has everything she needs. She has been an amazing family cat."

Nothing makes us happier than hearing updates like this. It sounds like Ella is living her best life and soaking up all the love she deserves!

Gale is a 5-year-old brown tabby who has been in our care since July. To help him settle in and show us his true personality, he moved into a loving foster home, and what a difference it has made! Away from the busy shelter environment, Gale has come out of his shell and shown everyone just how sweet and affectionate he really is.

He's been winning hearts in foster care ever since, and now he's ready for the next step: finding a forever home to call his own. ❤️

A word from Gale's foster mum:

"Meet Gale! This sweet, itty bitty boy is looking for his next lap to sleep in! Gale is a slow mover and needs oodles of patience but the result is so worth it.

This little couch troll is a world class hider. He can often be found sleeping underneath a blanket which is where he feels safest as he adjusts to his new spaces. He is a night owl and loves to get up to all sorts of shenanigans but at the same time would also love to cuddle in bed with his person after a bit of night time play.

Once Gale warms up, he is playful, curious and an absolute love bug. All he asks for is some treats, a lot of ear scratches, and a warm lap to sleep in the evenings. He also knows when you need a little love too."

September was a pretty awesome month! 🐾❤️

We said goodbye to 34 animals as they headed off to their new homes:

🐱 26 cats
🐱 3 kittens
🐰 1 rabbit
🐔 4 chickens

Thank you to everyone who adopted, fostered, volunteered, donated, and supported these animals along the way. Because of you, 34 more animals are settling into loving homes and starting their next chapter.

Happy tails all around, September. 🥰

The BC SPCA is honouring National Truth and Reconciliation Day by closing all its locations on Wednesday, September 30. This is in recognition of the history of residential schools in Canada and their impacts on Indigenous Peoples. The Society will also be ‘going quiet’ across all social media channels to respect and create space for Indigenous voices.

Adoption Update: Chino & Gojo! 🐾

We were so happy to receive this update on Chino and Gojo, both SPCA alumni! ❤️

Their family shared that the two have been doing great and have bonded beautifully. They even recently caught them cuddling together on camera! 🥰

Nothing makes us happier than seeing former shelter cats thriving together in a loving home. Wishing Chino and Gojo many more years of friendship and snuggles! 💕🏡

Adoption Update: Juno (formerly Karlach)! 🐾

We love receiving updates from our adopted animals, and Juno's family shared this wonderful news with us:

"When we first brought Juno home, she was very scared, but over the past two weeks she's absolutely blossomed. She loves chasing her tail when she gets the zoomies, wrapping her tail around our legs while we prepare her dinner, and climbing into bed at night to cuddle by our knees. She's such a perfect girl, and we're so happy to have her as part of our family."

It sounds like Juno has settled in beautifully and is showing her sweet, affectionate personality every day. 💕 Thank you to her family for giving her the love, patience, and safe home she needed to thrive. We couldn't be happier for this special girl!
