We're looking for a commercial-grade wet/dry shop vac (18-20 gallon) for our animal center.

A gently used one is perfectly okay. These vacuums are workhorses for us in our barn, and ours has finally called it quits after years of service.

If you have one collecting dust in your garage, workshop, or storage room and would consider donating it, we'd love to give it a second life helping animals in need.

Please comment below or send us a message. Thank you! 🐾❤️

🐶💚 Happy National Dog Day! 💚🐶

Today we celebrate the loyal, loving, and endlessly entertaining dogs who make our lives brighter every single day.

From wagging tails at the door to quiet moments of companionship, dogs have a special way of turning ordinary days into something better. They remind us what unconditional love looks like. 🐾

It’s also a great day to recognize the many dogs still waiting in shelters for a family to call their own—and the joy they bring once they’re home.

💬 Tell us about your dog! What makes them one of a kind? Share a photo or story in the comments 📸

🐱✨ Guess who? It's me, Nova!

You might remember me as Sienna, but I've got a new name now and a wonderful new home to match. I'm settling in really well and have even made a feline friend. That's right, my resident cat sibling and I are getting along great!

Life is pretty sweet these days, and I'm so grateful for my forever family. 💜

💚🌍 World Humanitarian Day 🌍💚

Today, we recognize the incredible individuals around the world who dedicate their lives to helping others in times of crisis and need.

World Humanitarian Day is a reminder that compassion takes many forms—supporting people, supporting animals, and strengthening the communities we share. At the BC SPCA, we see every day how kindness creates meaningful change, whether through rescue, care, adoption, or simply helping a neighbour in need.

Small acts of compassion can make a big difference in the lives of both people and animals. 💚

🐹✨ Hello, friends!

It's Bibble (Pudge) checking in from my forever home. Life is pretty great these days! I've been busy being adorable, investigating every corner of my habitat, and enjoying all the attention a little hamster could ask for.

Thank you to everyone who supported me while I waited for my perfect match. As you can see, I'm thriving and loving my new life!

Tiny paws, big thanks, Bibble 🩷

🐈‍⬛💚 Black Cat Appreciation Day 💚🐈‍⬛

Today is all about celebrating the beauty, charm, and personality of black cats! ✨

Often overlooked in shelters, black cats are just as playful, affectionate, and unique as any other cat. From gentle purrs to silly zoomies, they have just as much love to give—and they’re ready to share it with the right family.

🐾 Did you know? Black cats are often the last to be adopted, even though their personalities are just as diverse and loving as any other cat coat colour.

Let’s change that narrative and give these amazing cats the appreciation they deserve. 🖤

💬 Share a photo of your black cat (or a shelter black cat you love) in the comments and tell us what makes them special!

🔎🐾 Check the Chip Day 🐾🔎

A microchip is one of the best ways to help a lost pet find their way home—but it’s only effective if your contact information is up to date.

Today is the perfect reminder to:

✔️ Confirm your pet’s microchip is registered.

✔️ Update your phone number, address, and emergency contact if they’ve changed.

✔️ Make sure your pet is also wearing a collar with a current ID tag.

Taking just a few minutes today could make all the difference if your pet ever becomes lost.

💬 When was the last time you checked your pet’s microchip information? Let us know in the comments—or use today as your reminder!
