Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We honour the survivors of residential schools, the children who never came home, and the families still searching for answers.

On Sunday, masked individuals linked to a white nationalist group gathered on Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc land, the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School, and mocked the ongoing search for missing children.

Kúkpi7 Rosanne Casimir stated the Nation will not be intimidated. We stand with Tk'emlúps te Secwépemc and Indigenous communities in this region.

We’re just wrapping up a few days of learning with and from our network. Food bankers travelled from across our province to gather, be strengthened by our community, have fun, and return to our communities with practical tools and renewed focus.

We have refreshed our look to reflect the evolution of Food Banks BC and more clearly show our core values and purpose; a bolder FBBC.

- We strengthen BC's food banks with the critical support needed to help people today.

- As the province's leading voice on hunger and food insecurity, we advocate for systems change that means fewer people will need help tomorrow.

- Our work is grounded in dignity, evidence, and a belief that hunger in this province is solvable.
