πŸ“’ Public funds belong in public schools!

BC gave $575 million in public funding to private schools last year while public schools continue to face overcrowding, underfunding, and growing student needs.

That money should be going toward smaller classes, more support for students, safer buildings, and the public education system that serves everyone. 🍎

Take action today. Send a message to government and tell them: public funds for public schools. No exceptions.

Teachers across the district are feeling the strain of consecutive rounds of budget cuts: fewer supports for students, increased workloads, and shrinking resources in our classrooms.

As the district prepares to pass its latest budget, we are inviting you to wear red and attend the Board budget meeting.

This is an opportunity to show our collective frustration with the continued erosion of classroom supports and to stand together for the resources our students and schools need.

Bonus: Teachers who attend in person will receive a limited-edition t-shirt to commemorate the launch of the STA campaign to end public subsidies for Group 2 private schools.
