🍂 Welcome to October at Semiahmoo Family Place! 🍂

Come for the play, stay for the friendships, and find a community where you and your children belong. 💛 This month brings Baby Place, Family Place with Parent Support, Friday lunch, and Super Saturdays - with opportunities for children to learn through play and caregivers to connect.

🦷 **FREE dental hygiene checkups and cleanings**
We’re welcoming Kanchan Garcha, Registered Dental Hygienist with the Public Health Dental Program, to Baby Place on October 6 and Family Place on October 8.

🍁 **October 31 Costume Parade** 🎃
Join us for a cheerful costume parade, Oreo spider cookie treats, and bat and pumpkin crafts! Please choose costumes without masks or scary details so our youngest children feel comfortable.

💛 **Support through the postpartum roller coaster**
Our Postpartum Emotional Wellness Peer Support Group is bringing mothers together to share, listen, and support one another. We’re so thankful to Pacific Post Partum Support Society for their partnership. If you’re struggling, please reach out - we can help you connect with support and register your interest in a future group.

The care parents show one another makes SFP a special place. Whether you’re new to our programs or a familiar face, we look forward to welcoming you!

We’re excited to launch our new Postpartum Emotional Wellness Peer Support Group this September. 💜

This is a warm, welcoming space for mothers navigating the ups and downs of postpartum life - whether you’re looking for a little extra emotional support and connection or experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression.

September is here, and we’re looking forward to welcoming families back to SFP. 🍂🧡

Baby Place and Family Place continue this month, and Super Saturdays are back starting September 12! Join us Saturdays from 10am–12pm at Kensington Prairie Community Centre for family play, time in the gym and outdoors, arts and crafts, physical literacy, wellness activities, nutritious snacks and lots of opportunities to connect with other families.

We’re also very happy to be introducing something new at SFP this September: our Postpartum Emotional Wellness Peer Support Group (pre-registration required - limited capacity), beginning September 16 at Sunnyside Hall.

Becoming a mother brings many changes, and the postpartum period can come with all kinds of emotions, adjustments and experiences. Sometimes we simply need a little more connection and support from people who understand.

Our new group offers a warm, caring and judgment-free space for mothers to come together and support one another through the ups and downs of postpartum life. It is for mothers navigating the adjustments of new motherhood, those who would appreciate some additional emotional support and connection, as well as mothers experiencing postpartum anxiety or depression. At the heart of the group is peer support and the comfort of being with other mothers who understand. Babies are very welcome. 🌷

This is a free, limited-capacity, pre-registered program. Registration is for the full three-month program, with participants attending weekly on Wednesdays from 10:00–11:30am at Sunnyside Hall, from September 16 through December 16. There will be no group on September 30 or November 11.

This SFP pilot program is launching with training, mentorship and support from Pacific Post Partum Support Society Pacific Post Partum Support Society (PPPSS). Please see our separate Postpartum Emotional Wellness Peer Support Group poster for the registration QR code.

We’re looking forward to a new season of connection, friendship, play and community at SFP. Come as you are - we’d love to see you. 🧡

🌟🔥 Exciting news for this Friday! 🚒🚒🚒

Barring any emergency call-outs, we’re expecting a very special visit from our amazing supporters Surrey Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 1271 who have arranged this for Family Place with Parent Support at 10:30am this Friday! (Program is from 10am-12:30pm)

And that’s not all! 🧺🌭 We’ll also be enjoying a hot dog picnic and visit from our lovely friends and supporters from White Rock Soroptimist International. ❤️

We are so grateful to have such incredible community partners supporting local children and families. Come join us Friday, August 14th for what should be a very special morning! 🌟🚒🌭 10am-12:30pm Sunnyside Hall, Bakerview Park, 1845 154 St. Surrey
