Our free programs and services in settlement, language, employment, community engagement and mental health provide them with information, skills and connections for their journey toward success and belonging. Twenty-two Grade 7 students recently visited DIVERSEcity to present children in our LINC and SAFE HAVEN programs with handmade toys they created at school.

The visit was a meaningful opportunity for students to share their creativity, spread kindness and connect with members of the community. During their time at DIVERSEcity, they also learned more about our programs and services, gaining a deeper understanding of how we support newcomers, immigrants and diverse communities.

Experiences like these help foster empathy, cultural understanding and a sense of community, reminding us that even small acts of kindness can make a lasting impact.

A special thank you to the students and staff at Surrey Christian School for their generosity and thoughtfulness in creating and donating these handmade toys.

Designed for refugee claimants, this program provides opportunities to practice English-language skills through friendly, engaging conversations in a comfortable and encouraging space.

Whether you're just beginning your English-learning journey or looking for more opportunities to practice, Conversation Circles offer a place to learn, connect and grow together.

New RFP! We are looking for a Regional Evaluator for DIVERSEcity's BUILD BC-Yukon capacity-building program.

BUILD BC-Yukon is seeking a third-party evaluation consultant to conduct a comprehensive and independent evaluation of indirect services within the program across BC and Yukon. Indirect services refer to capacity-building and system-strengthening supports provided to organizations, including training, coaching, mentorship, technical assistance and organizational development resources that enhance internal effectiveness, service quality and long-term sustainability.

As Vancouver gears up for the 2026, soccer excitement is building across the region — especially for local soccer families who have spent years living and breathing the beautiful game.

That excitement hits close to home for Gurinder Badwal, a clinical counsellor at DIVERSEcity, and proud mom to Jeevan Badwal, a 20-year-old midfielder with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.

Jeevan’s soccer story began early. At just three years old, he first stepped onto the field at Surrey’s Newton Athletic Park, surrounded by his supportive parents and a strong local soccer community that helped shape his love for the game.
