June is National Indigenous History Month.

This month, we honour the histories, cultures, languages, teachings, and contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples across Turtle Island.

Indigenous history is not confined to the past. It lives on through our Elders, Knowledge Keepers, youth, families, languages, ceremonies, and communities.

It is reflected in the strength and resilience of Indigenous Peoples who continue to carry forward their cultures despite generations of colonial policies and displacement.

At FRAFCA, Indigenous History Month is an opportunity to reflect, learn, and celebrate the richness of Indigenous knowledge while recognizing the ongoing work of reconciliation and community-building.

We encourage everyone to take time this month to listen, learn, and deepen their understanding of the histories and experiences that continue to shape our communities today.
