Paint the Town Live Auction Evening Tickets 🎫 on sale now!

Get ready for a fabulous evening of local art, live music, local wine, live and silent auctions, and great company. Bid on 30+ paintings featuring iconic spots on the Semiahmoo Peninsula to support local artists and SAS program accessibility.

Produced in partnership with Crescent Housing Society, and presented by Schill Insurance, 2026 Paint the Town is currently exhibited at the Turnbull Gallery until October 4.

Auction proceeds to be shared between the artist and Ulee’s Access the Arts Fund.

Thank you everyone who came out last weekend to Paint the Town, presented by Schill Insurance.

More than 50 local works of art are now on exhibition in the Turnbull Gallery at the South Surrey Recreation & Arts Centre. Come vote for your favourites and help a local artist win the $250 Community Prize!

Carla is a notable local artist and illustrator, living and creating on the traditional, unceded territories of the Coast Salish peoples. Inspired by the natural beauty of the West Coast, Carla aims her work to be JOYFUL as well as have an environmental awareness, by capturing the fragile beauty of the world around her.

Carla was born into a family of artists, she studied fine art at Kwantlen College in Surrey, British Columbia. Carla is an Active Member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and enters many other community-based shows. Over the years, she’s received several awards and also enjoys teaching art to seniors.

From fine art to gingerbread creations, Carla’s work seeks to celebrate the power of art to brighten everyday life and make you smile. Carla is often inspired by nature and has painted plein air at Dunsmuir gardens over the years and is a regular participant in SAS’ annual Paint The Town event. She will be painting on White Rock Beach near the Pier on July 25, so come find her to watch, or better yet, to paint alongside her!

Take part in Paint the Town, presented by Schill Insurance, on July 25. Anyone can participate, all supplies are included for $10. Try painting en plein air (outdoor) at a location of your choice anywhere on the Semiahmoo Peninsula. Where and what you choose to paint is up to you.

Keep your painting or enter it in the Paint the Town Exhibition July 27 - Oct 4 to be eligible for juried and community voting, as well as possible inclusion in the Oct 2 art auction.

We had a great turn out last Friday for our inter-generational drumming group.

Whether you’re shaking, tapping, or drumming on various instruments like drums, shakers, and more, this group is about having fun and connecting with others through music. This free, monthly drumming group will be back at Semiahmoo Arts in September, for adults 55+ and youth ages 15-25!

This month’s featured artists are mother-and-son duo Allison and Nathan Redies, both painters whose work is featured in the current SAS Members’ Show.

Allison Redies is a South Surrey artist and art educator. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts and Masters’ work at the University of Victoria. Specializing in vibrant florals, local landscapes, and abstract art, her work evokes a sense of wonder, joy, and delight in the natural world. Allison frequently explores connections between art and meditation through neurographic art. A lo

Nathan Redies is an emerging artist currently studying Visual Arts at the University of Fraser Valley, specializing in drawing, painting, and graphic design.
