Registration is now open for Wild Kidz and Go Wild, BCWF's youth outdoor education camps!

Wild Kidz is a day camp for ages 8-12, running at five locations across BC this summer. Go Wild is a 7-day overnight camp for ages 13-17 at Silver Lake Forest Centre in Peachland, August 9-15!

Knowing how to classify wetlands helps us understand their unique functions and how best to protect them!

Whether your chosen outdoor hobby includes wandering forest trails, casting a line into quiet waters, tracking game through marshy ground, or jogging tree-lined paths, chances are there’s a wetland nearby—quietly supporting life, cleaning water, and helping stabilize the climate.

In total, there are five major types of freshwater wetlands, each with its own wild plant life, funky soils, and a vital role in keeping nature in balance.

We're hiring! 🌱

The BC Wildlife Federation is looking for a Grant Writer and Coordinator to support conservation and education programs across B.C.

This position plays a vital role in securing the financial resources that enable BCWF to promote fish and wildlife conservation and conservation education, and foster community-based stewardship initiatives across the province. The successful candidate will manage, secure, and coordinate grant & contract documents in partnership with the program leads and project managers. Strong writing and communication skills and organizational abilities to meet tight deadlines are essential aspects of this work.
