Why is it so hard to make friends in Vancouver? Here is a great article to think about and consider where you are at in terms of social connection and practices of welcoming and belonging.

"Iris Lok, a UBC doctoral candidate in social psychology, worked with Dr. Dunn on the project. “There’s a lot of [research] work showing that people derive a lot of emotional benefits from talking to strangers, yet there’s a social norm against talking to strangers,” she told The University of British Columbia Magazine in the story on loneliness in Vancouver."
