Another powerful meeting of BIPOC Practitioners. We watched and discussed the film “A Love Song For Latasha – “The injustice surrounding the shooting death of 15-year-old Latasha Harlins at a South Central Los Angeles store became a flashpoint for the city’s 1992 civil uprising (IMDB).

The short film is “a dreamlike hybrid documentary in conversation with the past and the present to reimagine a more nuanced narrative of Latasha Harlins than standard archival practises have captured by excavating intimate and poetic memories shared by her cousin and best friend.”

15 BIPOC practitioners discussed the film, and then spoke about their own experiences, the microaggressions they have experienced on a personal and political level, and the collective action we can take around systemic change and equity.
