Province of PEI NOTICE TO ELECTORS FOR COUNCIL NOMINATIONS

MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT
PURSUANT TO SECTION 42 OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT ACT,
AND SUBSECTION 25(1) OF THE MUNICIPAL ELECTION REGULATIONS

Public notice is hereby given to the electors of the Rural Municipality of Sherbrooke that a Municipal Election will be held on Monday, November 02, 2026 to elect the Mayor and 6 Councillors for the Rural Municipality of Sherbrooke for the term of office terminating on the 6th day of December 2030.

The nomination period for the council positions noted above opens at 10:00AM Wednesday, October 7, 2026 and concludes at 2:00 PM on Nomination Day, Friday, October 16, 2026.

Nominations can be received at the election office 26998 Sherbrooke Road, RTE 2, Sherbrooke, PEI by the Municipal Electoral Officer (MEO) or Returning Officer at the following times:

* Wednesday, October 7, 2026 – 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM; Sunday, October 11, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM; and Friday, October 16, 2026 from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Candidates are responsible for confirming their eligibility to be nominated prior to submitting their nomination form.

The deadline for correcting elector information shall be no later than 11:59 am on Tuesday, October 21, 2026.

If anyone would like to do this survey please do so to help this UPEI student out! I’m a UPEI master’s student working on food security across PEI. I’m doing a short online survey to help create a livelihood map, and I really need responses from communities across the Island.

I still don’t have enough responses from your community, and since my survey is online, your page would be one of the best ways for me to reach people there. I was wondering if you’d be willing to share it on your page. It would honestly be a huge help for my research.

The survey is anonymous, open to anyone 18 or older, and participants can also enter a small gift card draw.

Roadside Cleanup Day is Saturday, May 09th. Flyers and collection bags will be in every mailbox in Sherbrooke on Tuesday, May 05th. The side door at the Sherbrooke Centre will be open for the day so residents can get more bags if needed, or grab a juice and snack. The next scheduled Sherbrooke Council meeting is May 12, 2026 at 6:30 PM!
