On May 24, 2026 we went on local familiarization flights!

This is a training lesson where the cadets learn about the control surfaces of the airplane, the attitudes and movements, and flight instruments!

It was a perfect weather day!!!

The airplane used is a Cessna 172 owned by the Penticton Flying Club / COPA #50

One of our officers took place at a similar exercise in 1991!!!

🚨 Training Exercise Notice for Penticton Airport
On Tuesday, May 26 (from 8 am to 9 am ), Penticton Airport will be running a full-scale emergency exercise. This is only a drill, not a real emergency.
This exercise is designed to test the airport’s emergency response plan for managing an aircraft emergency on site. During this time, you may notice an increased presence of emergency responders, including:
• Penticton Fire Department
• BC Ambulance Service
• RCMP
These exercises help keep our community safe and ensure responders are ready when it matters most. Thank you for your understanding.

Had an AMAZING time at Okanagan Warriors Adventure. They do a confidence course that focuses on teamwork and communication and overcoming fears and obstacles. The leaders are organized and professional. It was absolutely fantastic!

🎄 902 Squadron Christmas Potluck – Wednesday, December 17th 🎄 Doors open at 6:30pm (come help set up at 5:45 if you can!)

All squadron families are invited – parents, siblings, kids of all ages – the more the merrier! Cadets are encouraged to wear pyjamas and an ugly sweater if they have one. We have 26 cadets enrolled so we will need lots of food!

Please bring a food item to share: 🍽️ Main dish 🧀 Appetizers 🍰 Dessert

Cadets: don’t forget to bring a wrapped White Elephant gift for the gift exchange (approx. $10 value and can be a thrifted item, something funny, or something special)– it’s always a highlight of the night!

We’d love extra hands at 5:45 pm to set up tables and chairs, and if anyone feels festive and wants to bring or arrange table decorations or centerpieces, please let me know! I will bring evergreen branches for the tables but would like some help making it special.
