My sweet Louis Coconut,

I’ve had you for eight beautiful years, and I’m so sorry for everything you carried before you came to me—the obesity and the struggles you faced when I first rescued you. But for the last eight years, you overcame every obstacle and showed nothing but strength, resilience, and love.

You fought so hard to be healthy, right up until recently when breathing became difficult. We took you to the vet, hoping for more time, more answers, more hope. But with your age—somewhere between 13 and 16 years old—and the tumor they found in your nasal cavity, the kindest gift left was to let you rest peacefully.

That decision came from love, even though it hurts beyond words.

Thank you for eight years of memories, companionship, and unconditional love. Thank you for trusting me, for letting me care for you, and for being such a special soul in my life.

You were rescued, but the truth is—you rescued hearts too.

Run free now, sweet Louis Coconut. No more pain, no more struggle, only peace. You will always be loved, always be missed, and never be forgotten

🐷 Help Us Build Safe New Homes for Our Pigs 🐷
Right now, many of our pigs at Star’s Piggly Wiggly Sanctuary are living in old pallet houses that are worn out and no longer the safe, cozy shelters they deserve.
We have an amazing opportunity — a kind gentleman and his son have offered to build brand new houses for all of our pigs. ❤️
🏠 What We Need to Raise:
13 Small Houses = $3,900 ($300 each)
8 Large Houses = $2,800 ($350 each)
✨ Total Goal: $6,700 ✨
💛 Sponsor a House:
If you donate half the cost of a house, your name will be proudly placed on it after it’s painted!
Small House Half Sponsorship = $150
Large House Half Sponsorship = $175

To My Alfie

I had you for six beautiful years, Alfie, and from the very first day I met you, I loved you.

When you came to me, you were so very obese, with a badly cut foot, and I truly didn’t think you were going to make it. For the first eight weeks, I pretty much babied you. You were so big I had to help you stand, help you walk, and even help you find the bathroom. You wouldn’t eat from a bowl because you didn’t know what pig food was. I had to hand-feed you, bite by bite.

You loved peanut butter and jam sandwiches with your egg every morning — not because it was healthy, but because it was the only way I could get your medicine into you for that injured foot. And I would have done anything to help you heal.

You didn’t truly know how to be a pig until we moved to Peachland two years later. That’s where you discovered mud — and realized how amazing life could be. Watching you finally be free, finally be you, was one of the greatest joys of my life.

Out of the 53 pigs I have loved, you and I shared the deepest bond. You were my heart pig. I am lost without you, and I don’t know what I’m going to do without your presence in my world.

But I will always carry you with me.

I will always love you, Alfie.

UPDATE:
Otis had a severe spinal injury. There was no way to fix it. Sadley hes gone to piggy heaven. We are getting him cremated.
Emergency for Otis 🐷
Otis, our pot-bellied pig, cannot walk on his back legs and is in pain. We’re taking him to the vet tomorrow for urgent care, but we don’t yet know what’s wrong.
He’s resting safely inside and receiving pain meds, but we need help covering his emergency vet costs. Every donation—no matter the amount—goes directly toward Otis’s treatment.
