INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) Emergency Support Services (ESS) program wishes to acknowledge suppliers for their important contributions. ESS is a provincially-funded program that enables regional, municipal, and Indigenous governments to deliver critical services to the community during an emergency.

RDOS ESS suppliers include local hotels, grocery stores, restaurants, transportation services, clothing and retail stores, and the Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT). The ESS program relies on suppliers in several South Okanagan communities, including Princeton, Keremeos, Osoyoos, Oliver, Penticton, and Summerland. Without the generous support of suppliers, assisting evacuees would be a much more difficult task. These resources have an immeasurable impact on those affected during times of crisis.

RDOS ESS would like to sincerely thank all the suppliers who faithfully support the ESS program, some of which have supported the program for many years. Your contributions to the community are appreciated, valued, and recognized.

The good news is there are steps you can take now to help reduce your stress should something like that happen....

Keep your vehicle's fuel tank or EV charge at least half-full if possible ✔️

This will ensure you have enough fuel or battery charge to leave the area if you're directed to evacuate due to an emergency like a wildfire 🔥
