1st Strathmore Scouts - Alberta Serving the Strathmore community and enabling our youth to develop in a safe environment through fun, challenging outdoor programs

For our Core programs, youth are divided into five age categories called sections. Each section is part of a group (there are more than 225 Chinook Council Scouting groups located in southern Alberta) and each group falls within one of our 12 service areas. The Chinook Council is comprised of representatives from each area. The Core Scouting programs typically run from January to December, breaking for summer.

🍂🏕️ Scouts Are Back! 🏕️🍂

Adventure is calling, and we can’t wait to get started!

As summer winds down, we’re gearing up for another exciting year filled with outdoor adventures, camping, games, new skills, community service, leadership opportunities, and plenty of fun with friends.

Whether your youth is returning or thinking about trying Scouts for the first time, now is the perfect time to join us!

🦫 Beavers (ages 5-7)
🐺 Cubs (ages 8-10)
🏕️ Scouts (ages 11-14)
⚜️Venturers (ages 15-17)

Our first meetings are just around the corner, and we have an amazing year planned. From campfires and hikes to badge work and unforgettable experiences, there’s something for everyone.

A huge thank you to all of our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Scouters who came out for the Strathmore Stampede parade today! 🎉

We are so proud of the youth for showing up with amazing energy, creativity, and Scout spirit. It was wonderful to see everyone representing 1st Strathmore Scouts and sharing what Scouting is all about with our community. Another thank you to the Scouters who volunteered their time and energy into making this happen!

Finally, thank you to everyone who walked, waved, smiled, and helped make the parade such a great success. We are proud of you all! ⚜️

No Scouting experience needed, training and support are provided!

What a fantastic Canada Day at Kinsmen Park! 🇨🇦🛶

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and joined us for a canoe ride, stopped by to say hello, bought a drink, or supported our Scouts group throughout the day. It was great to see so many families enjoying the park and celebrating Canada Day with us.

We’d also like to thank our volunteers and youth members who helped make the day a success. Events like this wouldn’t happen without your hard work and enthusiasm.

If you took any photos during the canoe rides or at our booth, we’d love to see them! We were so busy we didn’t get many ourselves! Feel free to share them in the comments below so everyone can enjoy the memories.

⚜️Congratulations!⚜️
Last night, our Scout Troop had the privilege of celebrating three Scouts who reached an incredible milestone.
Congratulations to Nicky, Lyla, and Anthany on earning the Chief Scout Award—the highest honour a Scout can achieve in Scouts Canada.
This prestigious award reflects years of dedication, perseverance, leadership, community service, and personal growth. It is earned through a commitment to challenging yourself, developing new skills, and making a positive impact on those around you.
Over the years, these Scouts have embraced countless adventures, strengthened their outdoor and leadership skills, served their community, and set an outstanding example for others in our troop. Their hard work and determination have truly paid off, and we couldn't be prouder of everything they have achieved.
Once again, congratulations to Nicky, Lyla, and Anthany on this well-deserved accomplishment and we wish them all the best as they continue their Scouting journey.

Paddle Into Canada Day with 1st Strathmore Scouts! 🇨🇦

Looking for something fun to do on Canada Day?

1st Strathmore Scouts will be offering canoe rides at Kinsmen Park throughout the celebrations! Whether you're an experienced paddler or trying a canoe for the first time, come down and enjoy some time on the water with us!

We'll also be selling:
💧 Bottled Water
⚡ Gatorade

And don't forget to grab your tickets for our 50/50 draw for a chance to take home some extra cash while supporting local Scouting programs!

All proceeds help support youth programming and outdoor adventures for the members of 1st Strathmore Scouts.

We hope to see you at Kinsmen Park on Canada Day for a fun-filled day of community, paddling, and celebration!

🐺⭐ Congratulations! ⭐🐺

Last night, we had the honour of recognizing an outstanding achievement in our Cub Pack.

Congratulations to Abi on earning the Seeonee Award, the highest award a Cub Scout can achieve in Scouts Canada.

This award represents years of adventure, personal growth, service to others, leadership, and dedication to Scouting. Earning the Seeonee Award requires commitment, perseverance, and a willingness to challenge yourself while helping those around you.

Throughout her time in Cubs, Abi has embraced new experiences, developed valuable outdoor skills, served her community, and been a positive role model within our Pack. We are incredibly proud of all she has accomplished.

Please join us in celebrating this remarkable milestone and wishing her continued success as she continues her Scouting journey.
