National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Today, Strathmore Soccer Association takes time to listen, learn, reflect and remember.

We honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors who did, and their families and communities.

Truth and reconciliation begins with acknowledging the painful history and ongoing impacts of the residential school system. It means listening to the voices and experiences of Indigenous Peoples and recognizing that reconciliation is an ongoing responsibility—not something that happens on just one day.

As a soccer community, we believe in creating a future built on respect, understanding, inclusion and meaningful change.

Today, and every day, Every Child Matters. 🧡

Our GU13 team had an amazing outdoor season, and we couldn’t be more excited to see what they bring to the indoor season! ⚽️💪 With Coach Steve and our new Assistant Coach Anna. Go Sage Go!

We’re continuing to build and grow the female side of our club and would love to see even more girls out on the field. Our goal is to create more female teams, give more players the opportunity to play, and keep growing the female players game right here in our community.

Why soccer is great for females!

Builds confidence & self-esteem
🤝 Teaches teamwork & leadership
💪 Builds resilience & determination
🧠 Develops problem-solving skills
❤️ Promotes physical health & strength
📚 Supports focus & concentration
👭 Builds friendships & a sense of belonging
⚽ Keeps girls active, involved & having fun!
