The STRATFORD REVOLUTION Basketball organization is part of a larger organization known as SBA which stands for Stratford Basketball Association. SBA oversees both the travel teams (Stratford Revolution) and the recreational teams – (Hoops for Fun). www.stratfordbasketball.com
Stratford Revolution – travel basketball is affiliated with Basketball Ontario and was started in 1993 by Dave Hurley.
Originally, the Stratford Army Navy and Air Force was the initial sponsor that helped launch the program. After that, the Stratford Optimists Association was instrumental in keeping the program going and expanding including the Hoops For Fun - House League program originally started by Gary Turner. From a very simple beginning of a single team competing, the Stratford Revolution Program now boasts about 11 teams of male and female athletes. They have had a great deal of success and fun winning many tournaments and provincial medallions. With our Board of Directors and a firm plan for future growth in mind, the program can’t help but be successful and grow larger in the years to come. Where Our Basketball Is Played
The City of Stratford has been an excellent partner with our organization, providing gym space in elementary and high schools in the area for the last 16 years. In addition, we are very fortunate to have struck a five year leasing deal with a tremendous facility located in the Agriplex building at the Stratford Fairgrounds. This facility will be used by SBA for both its recreational and competitive programs. It is a facility that houses four full sized basketball courts with a beautiful removable hardwood floor.
