Pay It Forward- Stratford

Pay It Forward- Stratford Help us at the Stratford-Perth YMCA celebrate Peace by doing a Random Act of Kindness for a stranger & then asking them to "Pay It Forward".

Every year YMCA's across Canada celebrate YMCA Peace Week the 3rd week of November. We award our Peace Medal to a local individual or group who has gone out of their way to help foster a culture of peace. We also take the opportunity to incorporate various stories and crafts focusing on Peace into all of our programs. This year as a part of our Peace Week activities we've decided to embrace the "P

ay It Forward" movement and encourage our great community to get involved!! We would like to challenge YOU to do 3 random acts of kindness over the next 2 weeks! If someone offers to "pay you back" for what you've done we'd like to ask you to tell them to "pay it forward" by doing 3 random acts of kindness themselves for 3 other strangers!! Imagine the ripple effect we could cause! Please join the movement and our new page "Pay It Forward- Stratford" and share your story! Did you pay for the coffee of the person in line behind you? Or did you receive someone else's 'random act'? Either way we'd like to hear about it here!! If you're stuck for an idea of what to do don't worry, we will keep posting ideas and others stories to inspire!! Thank you for being a part of our Pay It Forward Movement and have fun!!!

STRATFORD!! Can you help?!

SUCCESS STORY! We have a youth moving out of the shelter today to their own apartment! This individual has worked so hard and we couldn't be more proud of all their accomplishments. However, we could use your help! They are in need of some furniture such as a small kitchen table and chairs, dresser and small couch. Pick up by Shelterlink is possible. Let us know if you have anything in good condition you are looking to get rid of. [email protected] or DM us here.

Shelterlink is looking for some help, as we head into the coolder weather

Heading into the colder months means an increase in the number of youth we serve at Shelterlink Youth Services. With more young people reaching out for support, the need for warmth and essential supplies has never been greater.

Our Shelter Wish List highlights the items that will make a difference this fall. When you donate, you’re not just providing physical items; you’re offering hope, comfort, and a sense of belonging to those who need it most. 🏠❤️

🧡 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | Orange Shirt Day 🧡

On September 30, we pause to honour the children who never returned home, the Survivors of residential schools, and their families and communities. This day is an opportunity to reflect on the tragic and painful history, as well as the ongoing impacts of residential schools in Canada.

🧡 Orange Shirt Day is a grassroots movement that raises awareness of the intergenerational trauma caused by residential schools and reminds us that “Every Child Matters.” The orange shirt has become a symbol of the cultural loss and suffering endured by Indigenous children over generations.

On this day, we invite everyone to wear orange in solidarity and remembrance.
