Stratford Legion Branch 8 We have been proudly supporting Stratford veterans and various community groups since October 1926! Our mandate is REMEMBRANCE.

The Royal Canadian Legion is the largest veteran's organisation in Canada with over 300,000 members! Working to ensure the more than 117,000 men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice are never forgotten. We also work to support past and current service members and their families. Each year our poppy campaign raises funds for our service members and their dependants. Stratford Branch 8 received

its charter in October of 1926, opened as Loghrin Memorial Home. A tribute paid to a city councillor who lost his life in the Great War. Branch 8 has been a leader in the community for close to a century. We continue to support senior citizens, community and youth. We aid with funding education through bursaries to the two high schools. We also support various sporting activities for both the young and the old! We are currently the proud sponsor of 19 Stratford Air Cadets! An undertaking of more that 50 years! Join us in our lounge Friday 3:00-6:00pm and Saturday 2:00-6:00pm!

We are grateful to receive a $7,000 grant from The Royal Canadian Legion Ontario Provincial Command Branches and Ladies’ Auxiliary Charitable Foundation in support of a bed for our Cancer & Medical Care Clinic.

Presented locally by Stratford Legion Branch 8, this generous gift is part of a provincial legacy that has contributed more than $15 million to hospitals and community health initiatives across Ontario.

Support like this helps ensure patients have access to safe, comfortable care close to home. We are sincerely thankful for the Legion’s continued commitment to to care, service, and community.

Join us for Breakfast at Stratford Legion Branch 8 Sat Jan 24 starting at 8am. Just $15! Age 6-11 $7 and under age 5 free. No reservations. After the breakfast, head to Upper Queens Park for a full day of free activities. Come Play At The Park.

Eleven years have passed since Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed as he stood on sentry duty at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Ottawa.

Today, we reflect on Corporal Cirillo’s sacrifice as a reminder of the risks that CAF members face here at home and around the world.
