Dr. Giacomo Vivanti has been named the Joan and Jack Craig Chair in Autism Research at Dalhousie University. His work focuses on helping bridge the gap between autism research and the real experiences of children and families by improving access to early, individualized, and family-centred supports.

Dr. Vivanti’s research explores how evidence-based practices can better connect with real-world systems and everyday environments, including preschools and community settings. His approach emphasizes early support, collaboration with families, and improving outcomes for
autistic children through research-informed care.

The appointment also reflects Nova Scotia’s growing leadership in autism research, innovation, and service transformation, including ongoing work across the Provincial Preschool Autism Service (PPAS).

Our team is wearing red today for Red Shirt Day!

We’re proud to join people across Canada in showing support for accessibility and inclusion.
Red Shirt Day is a chance to:
• celebrate progress toward accessibility,
• spark meaningful conversations about inclusion,
• take action to remove barriers in our communities.

You can take part by wearing red and making a pledge to help build a more accessible Canada.

At Accessibility Standards Canada, we contribute to a barrier-free Canada by developing accessibility standards, supporting research, and sharing accessibility expertise.

Together, we can turn awareness into action!

We’re taking on the ParticipACTION Community Challenge this June! 💜

For the next month, Camp Gencheff will be helping our community get active, celebrate inclusion, and show Canada what PEI can do.

Every walk. Every game. Every swim. Every activity counts.

Follow along, join the movement, and help us make this our most active June yet. 👟☀️
