This past April, the Southeast Surge turned the success of the U13A OHF Championship Tournament into something that will reach well beyond the rink.

The team donated tournament proceeds to the North Perth Sports for Kids Fund, helping local children and youth access the sports they love.

It’s a great example of how local generosity can create lasting impact — supporting causes that matter and helping build a stronger community for everyone.

From the rink to the community. 💙

National Seniors Day was October 1, offering an opportunity to recognize the older adults who are such an important part of our communities and to reflect on what helps people stay connected, supported and able to thrive as they age.

Across Perth County, that can look different for everyone, from stronger social connections and meaningful recreation to better housing options and added comfort and support.

Projects like Family Services Perth-Huron’s New Bridges for Seniors, Ritz Lutheran Villa’s senior housing business case, Alzheimer Society Huron Perth’s Social Recreation – Night Out and Notes of Comfort are helping respond to those needs.

At SPCCF, we’re proud to help connect local generosity with organizations working to strengthen the well-being of older adults across our communities.

On World Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that meaningful support starts with listening, understanding and making sure people can access the help they need.

Across our communities, programs supported through CMHA Huron Perth, Family Services Perth-Huron and the Brain Injury Association are helping reduce barriers, strengthen connection and support mental wellbeing in practical, meaningful ways.

By staying connected to the needs emerging across Perth County, SPCCF helps bring local generosity together with organizations working every day to support individuals, families and communities.

Because when people have access to the right supports, the impact can reach far beyond one person.

Local impact often starts with something simple: a welcoming place to connect.

Through free youth programming at the YMCA of Three Rivers, young people can cook together, share a meal, build friendships and strengthen their sense of belonging. No membership is required, helping remove barriers and create a space where more youth can participate.

When community organizations, donors and partners work together, we create opportunities that support young people today while helping build stronger, more connected communities for the next generation.

That is what local impact can look like.

Women’s History Month is an opportunity to recognize the strength, resilience and contributions of women, while also shining a light on the programs helping women move forward, rebuild and create new possibilities.

Across our communities, initiatives like the Emily Murphy Centre’s Katch Program and the Brain Injury Association’s RenewED program are responding to real needs with practical, meaningful support that can make a lasting difference in women’s lives.

By staying connected to what is happening across Perth County, SPCCF can help bring local generosity together with the organizations and programs creating meaningful opportunities for women in our communities.

When women have access to the support and opportunities they need, the impact reaches far beyond the individual. It strengthens families, communities and what comes next.

September 25 marks the first annual Give Like Dolly Day, inspired by Dolly Parton’s belief in giving back to children and communities.

Through the St. Marys Imagination Library Fund, our community helps make it possible for local children to receive books through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, building a love of reading from an early age.

Dolly dreamed it, but local support makes it possible.

This Give Like Dolly Day, consider supporting the St. Marys Imagination Library Fund and helping more local children grow up with books of their own.

One day. One simple idea. Give Like Dolly, for a child.
