The Looking Glass Project

The Looking Glass Project The Looking Glass Project is a social movement to empower women to take back their bodies and fight

The Looking Glass Project is a tree trunk with many branches. What began at the roots as an art project quickly sprouted and has grown into a beautiful menagerie of social movements, community, and togetherness. At its core, The Looking Glass Project is a social movement which empowers women through art and story. Beginning with a photo series of honest nudes, The Looking Glass Project makes women

the subject of their art, rather than the object. Coupled with stories written by the participants of their personal struggles with objectification, The Looking Glass Project has created a powerful platform to open discussions on women’s rights, safety, sexualisation, and the need for equality. Participants are volunteers, and the project encourages minimal makeup for photo sets. The Looking Glass Project also hosts open discussion nights and public events which bring awareness to various issues surrounding women’s rights, equality, and normalizing language to be language without negative connotations. The Looking Glass Project is a social art project under the parent company of PhoeniX Design Photography.
